I like this one a lot. (beetles have mandibles (obviously), unfortunately they wouldn't convey the 'menace' that comes across nicely here .. but hey, this is fantasy so it works)
You're are correct sir (about mandibles). Somehow, in inking this, I merged the mandibles into its cheeks. It felt like something was wrong, but couldn't put my finger on it. Easy enough to "edit" with a layer in photoshop.
Agreed! I'd love to start a campaign with an all-halfling PC party. Honestly, when I wrote Valley of the Five Fires, I was tempted to create at least one all-halfling horde. It's still something I might get to as supporting material for the book. (Hmmm... maybe for Dragon Horde #3?)
